Auditory History =)

So what am I listening to these days?

Actually, if you didn’t block me in facebook (and I didn’t block you…teehee..) and you continue to see my posts, you would know what I listen to, so no need to read this post… haha! 🙂

I had an idea to list down the music I’ve been mostly listening to at a particular point in time, sorta like blogging my life thru music.. or at least the auditory part of it.  It’s not a bad idea actually … or so I hope. 🙂

So listing my 5 favorite songs for the last week and the corresponding youtube links:

1. Sleep Walking by Architecture in Helsinki

It’s my 2nd favorite song in the Moment Bends Album after Contact High. I love how this ballad sounds a little bit like Arcade Fire in some parts, but still very much Architecture in Helsinki. The line… “across the river there’s a smock..swimming straight into your heart” never fails to get a sing-along from me (with matching pointing and little jumping up and down movements..har har!).

2. Pump it by the Black Eyed Peas

Woke up one day and this was stuck in my head, and I kept playing it over and over again. Perhaps it was fergie’s hair tosses, maybe it was the ball, I dunno.

3. From the clouds by Jack Johnson

I went to a wedding/s that featured Jack Johnson music in the videos and presentations. It triggered some memories to tell you the truth, but let’s not get into that. From the Clouds must be my favorite song in the new Jack Johnson album, it’s just so—in love. haha! 🙂

4. Dracula in Houston by the Butthole Surfers

I remembered this randomly while playing an ipad game. True story! The ipad game was Where’s My Water. I have no idea if my brain found a correlation to either the surfers part of this post.. or the butt hole.  Hmm.. enihoodles, this song was in a mixtape that my friend, Bo gave me. 🙂 Loved it ever since.

5. Everything Goes My Way by Metronomy

Heard this on the radio on my way to Makati. I liked how the music goes really nice and sexy. Not to mention the lyrics are kilig. The question if I can relate or not is so not the point. haha!

This was nice. Maybe I should stop posting in FB and just do this here.

Sounds like a plan. 🙂

If you’d ask me to describe my musical tastes I would tell you I’m pretty schizophrenic. A better term would be eclectic. Haha! I’ll listen to anything that sounds good and I like. I have a known bias to rock though, and things Britney Spears. 🙂

Hey, and I love this cover by the Wombats of Jessie J’s Pricetag.. love it better than the original! 🙂

It’s not about the cha-ching cha-ching! or the ba-bling -babling
