12.1.12

December, my old friend, I hated you then, and I hate you now. You come so soon, so fast, and so.. sudden. I blink and there you are, your twinkling lights stabbing at my eyes flashing things that hurt this year, and speaking so fast about giving and caring that I can’t wrap my head around the things I might fail to do.

December, my old friend, I loved you then, and I love you now. You come so soon, so fast, and so.. sudden. I blink and there you are, your painted stars reminding me of things done well this year, and singing carols that celebrate things that I must never forget– such as family, gratitude, and a year nearly well-spent.

December, my old friend, as always, hello again. 🙂
